How Much Does a Custom Neon Sign Cost?

Pricing Guide

Most custom LED neon signs from Meon Neon cost between $200 and $1,800, and the biggest factor is simply size. Our pricing is transparent: width × height (in inches) × $0.70. A free mockup and exact quote take about 24 hours, and you pay nothing to see your design first.

Typical prices by size

Size (W × H) Best for Typical price
24" × 12" Desk or shelf pieces, small wall art ~$200
36" × 18" Bedroom names, wedding signs ~$450
48" × 24" Business logos, bar and cafe signs ~$800
60" × 30" Storefront statements, feature walls ~$1,260
72" × 36" Large commercial installs ~$1,815

Prices shown are typical for LED neon signs using our standard formula and include the sign, dimmer, and remote. Complex designs, premium backings, and rush timelines can adjust the final quote. Metal and other commercial signage (channel letters, monuments) are quoted separately.

Try the math yourself. A 36" wide × 18" tall sign is 648 square inches. 648 × $0.70 = $453.60. That is the whole trick, no hidden fees, and your exact quote confirms it before you pay a cent.

What actually drives the price

1Size. The single biggest factor. Our formula is width × height × $0.70, so a sign twice the area costs about twice as much.

2Design complexity. More letters, tight curves, multiple colors, or fine detail mean more LED tubing and more hand-bending time.

3Backing and mounting. Standard cut-to-shape clear acrylic is included. Upgrades like colored or box backings, or outdoor waterproof builds, add cost.

4Indoor vs outdoor. Outdoor signs need weatherproofing and tougher hardware, which raises the price versus an identical indoor sign.

5Timeline. Standard production is 3–5 days plus 3–5 days shipping. Rush options are available and quoted per project.

LED neon vs traditional glass neon

Part of why custom signs feel confusing to price-shop is that "neon" can mean two very different products. Everything we quote on this page is modern LED neon, and here is how it compares:

LED neon (what we make) Traditional glass neon
Cost Lower for the same size Typically far more expensive
Durability Flexible silicone, hard to break Fragile glass tubes
Power & safety Low-voltage 12V, cool to the touch High voltage, runs hot
Running cost Energy-efficient LEDs Higher electricity use
Look The classic neon glow, dimmable by remote The classic neon glow

Custom neon sign pricing FAQ

How much does a custom neon sign cost?

Most custom LED neon signs cost $200 to $1,800 depending on size. Pricing follows a simple formula: width × height in inches × $0.70. A 36" × 18" sign runs about $450, while a 48" × 24" business sign is about $800.

How much does a small neon sign cost?

Smaller pieces around 24" × 12" typically start near $200. Below a certain size, fine lettering gets hard to fabricate legibly, so your designer may suggest simplifying the design or bumping the size slightly.

How much does a large business sign cost?

Storefront-scale LED neon in the 60"–72" range typically runs $1,200 to $1,800+. For channel letters, monument signs, and other commercial signage, we quote per project through our parent company, Worldwide Signage.

Why are some neon signs so cheap online?

Ultra-cheap signs usually cut corners on LED quality, acrylic thickness, power supplies, and warranty support. Meon Neon signs use premium materials, include a dimmer and remote, and carry a 2-year warranty, and we still beat comparable quotes by 15%.

Is the design mockup really free?

Yes. You get a custom mockup and exact price, typically within 24 hours, before paying anything. Revisions are free until you love it.

Do you offer discounts or deals?

Almost always. We run promotions throughout the year, and your designer can apply any current special offers to your quote, so just ask when you request your free mockup.

How long does a custom sign take?

LED neon signs take 3–5 days to produce after design approval, then 3–5 days to ship. Metal and other commercial signage can have longer lead times, confirmed on your quote.

Do you make outdoor and commercial signs?

Yes. We build waterproof outdoor LED neon plus full commercial signage (channel letters, monument signs, and more) through our parent company, Worldwide Signage. Commercial projects are quoted individually.
